If you want an Internet marketer today you know that one of the top areas you must focus most of your energies on is developing a traffic funnel or a system for getting people to your website, services, and products. If you do not do this there is no way your business will make money online. The majority of the articles and blog posts you’ll read online usually have one thing in common, that is if they have probably written. The one thing these will share, is that they are written in order to be found by the search engines.
With that in mind, they must be written in a certain way. Knowing the proper keywords to use for your target niche audience, the problems that they share, and the solutions to those problems is all of the ammunition you need in order to write targeted articles for generating targeted traffic to your website. If you are already marketing from a website or sales page online, but are not attracting the traffic to your page that you think you should, you must stop and develop a new strategic plan for attracting website visitors. If you are in a very competitive niche, you need to think one move ahead of your competitors in order to constantly increase the traffic to your web pages.
No matter when you start these traffic development efforts, you will always be running at full throttle looking over your shoulder at your competition. Or, you’ll be looking far ahead at their backs and lets you begin or have already begun doing this and continue to do it every day you stay in business. You can never thank that you will start traffic development efforts today or tomorrow as your starting point you must do it every single day you are in business.
Like any Internet marketing strategy or technique, there are tried and true steps that every marketer can take that usually work when implemented properly and on a consistent basis. Following, are three of the top steps to take in order to increase your website traffic:
1. Pay Per Click Advertisement. Using PPC advertisement on marketing sites such as Google Adwords and Yahoo! is a great starting point to attract targeted traffic to your website. This is one of the most popular techniques Internet marketers use today because the traffic you will attract is searching using your specific keywords. Despite there being any costs to this strategy, you will develop a list of targeted customers. Although, if you truly want to develop a targeted list, you must direct at least some of your marketing dollars to PPC advertisement because it is one of the top strategies to increase your traffic.
2. Ad and Link Swaps. This is an easy traffic building strategy once you have at least a small list developed of targeted customers. To make this strategy effective, you develop a joint venture with another marketer and a related market and send e-mails to your list featuring links to the other marketers offer. This is what is referred to as a link swap or exchange.
To conduct an ad swap, you also develop a joint venture with another marketer but instead of sending e-mails you place an ad on your website for the other marketer’s product. This is obviously not a technique you want to do with someone in your specific target niche because you will be sending traffic basically to your competitor. And if you are selling the same service or product your customers will be buying that product from your competitors and possibly not from you.
3. Viral Marketing. This is one technique that works every time it is implemented sometimes with great success in other times with a little less success. Either way it will still attract targeted traffic to your sails off into website. This form of marketing is basically adding a link to your sales page to a blog post, an article submitted to an online article directory or any video.
If you provide valuable content within that article, blog post and video people reading that were viewing it will then send it to others or post it on their website. These people are usually other marketers interested in the niche that you are in. If they post the material on their website usually that is because they are looking at you as an expert who was sharing valuable content. Because your information is being sent out to several websites, directories, bookmarking sites and social networking sites possibly, this is what makes the viral. If you think of a virus which rates from one person to another, or one computer to another, your informational content will do the same thing with us perpetuating the broadcasting of your offer’s link.
Each of these strategies above, are surefire techniques to use to attract targeted traffic to your website. Once again, you cannot simply implement these once in a while but must do it on a continual basis if you truly want to continue to develop and increase the amount of people coming to your sales page. If you are out to attract prospective customers and develop your online presence and exposure, you owe it to yourself and the financial future of your business to learn everything you can about Internet marketing.
